Dropping a 30-yard bin on the older streets around Main and Railroad Ave isn't always possible, so a lot of our tear-offs run on trailers or get hand-loaded to the truck. Short driveways, tight lots. We sort that out before we quote.
Housing here is the valley's oldest. Ranch and split-level off Lyons, Peachland and Wiley Canyon, mostly composition shingle over skip sheathing. Every so often we peel a layer and find old wood shake underneath — that's a full tear-off and re-deck. Up toward Placerita Canyon you're on chaparral slope in the fire zone, so Class A assemblies, boxed-in eaves and ember-resistant vents land on the quote more often than not.

Why does my quote include new plywood?
Older Newhall homes often have skip sheathing under the shingles. Modern systems need solid decking, so if we find gaps or dry rot, re-decking goes in the scope.
I'm on the slope toward Placerita. Does that change the roof?
Usually. Fire-zone homes call for Class A rated assemblies with ember-resistant vents and enclosed eaves. We'll walk the eave line and vents with you at the inspection.
